This collector’s LP includes unissued and rare items by Herman’s Swingin’ Herd of the ’60s. Several selections (including “Hallelujah Time,” “Watermelon Man” and “Greasy Sack Blues”) are alternate versions of tunes released on other albums and a couple others (“The Duck” and “Boopsie”) originally came out as singles featuring guitarist Charlie Byrd. All in all a nice set of music that wraps up Herman’s ’60s recordings for Columbia. – Scott Yanow
