The Changeling is the darker, more grown-up sequel to the previous year’s gold-selling album Anthem. The Changeling entered the UK Top 40 in June 1982, peaking at number six. For the tenth overall release of the Toyah Safari Records catalogue on Cherry Red, Toyah’s archivist Craig Astley has dug deep to expand the album with a treasure trove of previously unheard bonus tracks, previously unseen footage and unseen, previously thought-lost, imagery. This expanded set presents a new remaster by Nick Watson from the original master tapes, approved by Joel Bogen, and further endorsed by Steve Lillywhite. 31 bonus tracks are distributed across the two audio discs, including 20 previously unreleased tracks, and a further three previously unavailable on any CD. The accompanying DVD includes two brand new in-depth feature-length interviews with Toyah Willcox plus music videos, behind-the-scenes footage, BBC archive clips, TV appearances and more. The artwork package is packed with rare and unseen imagery created for the album, including outtakes from the album cover session, and further unseen photographs taken for the Brave New World front and back covers.

Official UK release of the debut album from the Humans (Toyah Willcox, Bill Rieflin and Chris Wong). We Are the Humans was conceived and first performed in Estonia in 2008. The band then convened in Rieflin’s home ground of Seattle, USA in February 2008 to record the songs. Produced by Bill, the 10-song album was mixed by Don Gunn in Seattle, USA and mastered by Simon Heyworth in Devon, UK. It was launched in May 2009 as a limited Estonian edition CD at a very special concert in Tartu. The Humans were joined on stage by legendary guitarist Robert Fripp, who became an honorary full-time band member in late February 2010 when the band performed their first ever series of UK gigs.

Toyah is set to return this summer with ‘Posh Pop’, her first album of new material in 13 years.

The LP is the star’s first original collection since 2008’s ‘In The Court Of The Crimson Queen’, and was produced in collaboration with Simon Darlow and her husband, King Crimson’s Robert Fripp.

Ahead of its release, Toyah kicked off the campaign with lead track Levitate and, in an album announcement, the ’80s icon revealed more about the project.

Featuring brand new artwork including photography of Toyah’s iconic stage entrance for the gig, 20ft above the band and Rare and previously unseen photographs of the band’s Drury Lane concert the day before (23 Dec 1981) from the Safari Records archive also illustrate the CD booklet.

Toyah, the band, were invited by the BBC to play a special live concert on 24 December 1981 for broadcast live on BBC2 for The Old Grey Whistle Test Christmas Special. Simultaneously the concert was broadcast in stereo on BBC Radio 1. The much-loved Christmas Eve 1981 concert was watched by an astonishing 12 million television viewers.

Following a year of top ten hit singles in 1981 plus the Gold-selling album ‘Anthem’, the band closed out the year with this fantastic energetic and celebratory concert. Previously only ever available on a BBC VHS video cassette in 1982, this release marks the first time the stereo audio has been released.

Following her Top 30 hit album “Posh Pop” and Isle of Wight Festival performance Toyah unveils details of the new Rhythm Deluxe Edition of studio album “In The Court of The Crimson Queen”, presented as a prequel to “Posh Pop”.

The definitive version of the album now contains Toyah’s unique interpretation of the iconic song “Slave To The Rhythm”, featuring Robert Fripp on guitar and produced by Simon Darlow, co-writer of the original track.

Digitally remastered and expanded release, the fifth in the Toyah re-issue program. The previously unreleased concert audio is released for the first time ever on CD with seven additional songs, all previously unheard and unreleased; restored exclusively for this release. The 53-min concert film has been remastered for this release with improvements to both picture and sound. The newly remixed and remastered audio has been integrated to the concert for an enhanced viewing experience. For this release, the original Rolling Stones multitrack reels have been revisited and remixed from scratch by Nick Watson at Fluid Mastering to create a new full stereo mix of the gig for the first time in it’s history.

Four More From Toyah will be being reissued next week, and is remastered and expanded for a coloured vinyl offering. Side A contains all four of the tracks from the original EP, while side B features the previously unreleased track ‘Go Berserk’ (a song that was played before the band walked on stage on the European tour of winter 1981), ‘Stand Proud’ (from the bonus flexi-disc that came with initial copies of Four More From Toyah), outtake ‘Clapham Junction’, and finally the Steve Lillywhite-produced, previously unreleased, re-make of ‘I Want To Be Free’ (recorded in February 1982).

Anthem is the third album from English new wave outfit Toyah and follows 1980’s The Blue Meaning. Produced by Nick Tauber (Thin Lizzy, Marillion) and recorded at the Marquee Studios in London, the album saw a refreshed line-up continue with their take on alternative pop and new wave, headed by Toyah Willcox’s idiosyncratic vocals. The U.K. Top Ten singles “It’s a Mystery” and “I Want to Be Free” are featured.
