“Archipel” is a set of pieces for piano composed by Tom Bourgeois and interpreted by Léna Kollmeier. After their first collaboration, the two musicians continue their research around the solo repertoire. If the previous set “September” focused on short forms, here the subject is more stretched, more dense. “Archipelago” is a name given to a few pieces of this new opus, made of small interconnected stories; like islands, each with its own story but always linked to the others.

Tom Bourgeois embarks for the first time on a double album as a leader and composer. Each track highlights the formation in the form of a duo, trio or quartet, to explore the richness of sound. The bewitching timbres of voice, saxophone, guitar, and accordion bring a poetic, soft and melancholic atmosphere.
This double album feat. Veronika Harcsa & Loïs Le Van is to be understood as a mirror: 2 line ups, MURMURES and its (almost) anagram RUMEURS, in which each title responds to its counterpart on the other disc.
Mystical, introspective, spiritual and then suddenly angry, exalted, heretical, the music of Tom Bourgeois has something solemn and pagan at the same time.
