The Violinaires have been an institution in Detroit gospel music since 1952, appearing under a variety of names, usually The Violinaires or the Fantastic Violinaires. Originally released in 1978, this self-titled album from the Violinaires features the Detroit gospel group’s signature blend of late lead singer Robert Blair’s unique vocals and the high, sweet, falsetto background voices of the other members.
