Volume 2 of the complete string quartets by Philip Glass is the latest recording from the multi award-winning Molinari Quartet. This digital-only release features string quartets 5 to 7 and will be followed by a third volume to be recorded next year. The complete set of quartets will eventually be released as a box set.

Philip Glass is an outstanding figure in contemporary music. A leading composer in the American minimalist movement, along with Steve Reich, John Adams and Terry Riley, Glass has led an astonishingly rich and diverse artistic career.

Recognized as a major influential figure in contemporary jazz and the avant-garde, the American composer John Zorn is characterized by his refusal of stereotypes and his radical musical experiments. His chamber music is the focus of the latest recording by the award-winning Molinari Quartet. “It is with great enthusiasm that we dive into the fantastic and fascinating world of John Zorn. His music is powerful, emotional, and colorful”, says Olga Ranzenhofer, first violin.
