At the lockdown in 2020, you had to deal with something at home. Since the future was at stake in the United States in November because of the presidential election, people had to do something to stop being scared. Popa Chubby, the popular American blues rocker would have preferred to go on tour throughout the year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his career launch with the compilation It’s A Mighty Hard Road. But with the celebration it became nothing and Popa Chubby consoled herself with playing at home. He was trapped, but not excluded from the rest of the world. This unexpected album is primarily a chronicle of the year 2020 in America, at the beginning of which the corona epidemic broke out, as a result of which the conspiracy theorists came on the scene and there were also racist violence scenes until the presidential election came to an end. This America has become sick and crazy. Popa Chubby gives the country a horse cure, sings loudly to tell him that it must control itself and gives him the electric shocks produced with his guitar. Musically, it’s a real popa chubby, an energy drink full of blues rock with a few romantic drops. He made this album all by himself and he came out with a reggae title because he likes it as much as blues rock. Maybe Popa Chubby dreamed of being on stage when recording these songs, and the frustration that he couldn’t do that made them all the more powerful. This is real Popa Chubby, but it’s a bit more than routine: in Tinfoil Hat you can hear the distress, the anger, the bitterness, the revolt and the hopes of a musician who is more sincere and meaningful than ever before.

Big, Bad and Beautiful – this recorded in the spring of live double album summarizes what Popa Chubby has achieved in the past decade. For ten long years, it is already here that Popa Chubby released a live album. This double live album includes hits from Popa of „Booty and the Beast“ to his anniversary album „I’m Feelin’ Lucky“. The 27-song live work of Chubbfatha was in March 2015 recorded in France during his „I’m Feelin’ Lucky“ tour on which he was accompanied by a great team: Dave Keyes (Keyboard), Francesco Beccaro (bass) and Andrea Beccaro (drums). As a special treat, there is an impromptu mini-set of the band with some Rolling Stones classics. A definitive live release of 55s guitar heroes from NYC!
