Accompanied by the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini under Francesco Lanzillotta, Bordogna gives an engaging recital that emphasizes the exceptional vocal skills required to make these roles truly musical and not just parts played for laughs. Bordogna’s voice is nuanced and adaptable for his characterizations, and he shifts with apparent ease from the robust baritone of Mozart’s Leporello to the deep bass of Rossini’s Dr. Bartolo, creating completely different personalities through his vocal qualities and timbres.
