Maurice Meunier is little known. That’s too bad. he is one of the greatest jazz clarinettists in this particular idiom that is bebop. Buddy de Franco is more virtuoso, Tony Scott more apart than Maurice Meunier but he holds them high dragée as they say. This reissue takes the original album but you can buy, in the old collection “Jazz In paris” (directed by Daniel Richard that Universal thanked without flowers or crowns) which has the merit of presenting the context by a small booklet due to the pen of Alain Tercinet.
