You can travel the world while sitting comfortably in your own armchair? Listening to Massimo Valentini’s Jumble Music, who embodies the attitude and thought of the journey, you will have the impression of being on a Trans Europ Express which leaves from the heart of old Europe intent on reaching the Oceans. Attitude towards migration and geographical thinking made up of multiple sound continents. His is a jumble of styles and passions that brings together South America with the Balkans, manouche guitars with jazz and electronics through a skilful mix of artists and instruments. Hodgepodge that he himself defines as a Jumble Music where elegance and roughness merge with madness and rationality, sweetness and unbridled passion. And it is the sounds of his sax that tell the diversity of the encounters marrying from time to time with guitars, the charango, the quena, the bombo as well as other more traditional instruments such as piano, bass and drums. Instruments that sometimes dialogue with the beautiful voice of Elisa Ridolfi. And if Massimo’s original compositions are a rich geographical map in which to get lost, it is the childish melody of My Favorite Things that acts as a landing place in a sea of ideas that develop, in savoring the slowness of discovery, through the listening to a disc/opera brave in its diversity.
