Over the years, many experimental or avant-garde jazzmen were already in front of the microphones of Bauer Studios for direct recording in the Studiokonzert, but Maria Joao and her two companions Joao Farinha and Andre Nascimento are really a very own league. The Brazilian singer is flanked by two electronics specialists, one on the synthesizer, the other on the laptop. This is a very cool and exciting mix of beats, loops, and grooves. Maria Joao, a voice, is an irresistible energy bunch, between jazz jazz and a totally freaky scat song, everything is conceivable for her and Cole Porter’s “I Get A Kick Out Of You “a gloomy Drum’n’Bass number, and the second is dedicated to the electro settings of Shakespeare poems – plenty of fun,
