The second release from Kyoto Jazz Sextet. Their debut album “Mission” is a classic, released on the legendary Blue Note label it features seven songs selected from 1963 to 1966 to reflect of the sound of Blue Note whilst adding a contemporary essence. The album recordings were made ‘organically’- the musical instruments were vintage, mastering and editing used analog methods, and although the band used sampling, looping, mash – up and improvisation it was all done by the musicians themselves without digital input.

・KYOTO JAZZ SEXTET, an acoustic jazz unit launched in 2015 by Shuya Okino of Kyoto Jazz Massive, a DJ / music producer unit that develops worldwide activities.With the concept of expressing “the present of jazz”, we have released 2 albums, “MISSION” (2015) and “UNITY” (2017).
– In the new work for the first time in 5 years, it features Takeo Moriyama, the highest peak of Japanese jazz drums.Both of them appeared as headliners at Tokyo Crossover/Jazz Festival 2021 held at Shinkiba Ageha @STUDIO COAST in 2021 year 11 month 20 day and co-starred for the first time.The collaboration that transcended generations overwhelmed the audience.
