Two years after ‘Monument’, Keaton Henson comes back with a new studio album, House Party. About the album, Keaton says: “I wanted to make an upbeat confident pop record about depression and being a performer, written from the viewpoint of an artist who has hollowed himself out over a long career in the name of success, an alternate universe version of me (the guy in the pink suit), who is left empty and lonely from climbing to the top, but is still only able to express these feelings in the language of confident, performative pop songs.”

Six Lethargies is the culmination of over three years of work from the musician, artist and composer. Composed around, and from within, issues of mental illness and human emotion, the piece aims to express and explain the feelings of anxiety and depression through six connected movements for string orchestra. During the performance a portion of the audience will have their reactions monitored via bio-metrics, allowing their emotional state to control aspects of the production in real time.

The UK based Keaton Henson rose from self-imposed obscurity to gaining an international cult following thanks to his critically acclaimed bedroom recorded debut album, Dear. The success of his second album Birthdays led inevitably to increased pressure for Keaton to perform live, something he had vowed not to do, due to his private nature and on-going fears. However, despite this, Keaton eventually began performing via projector from another room, to very rare intimate shows after-hours in museums, churches and cathedrals.
