Described by the band as, “Dedicated to all fellow travellers who choose to explore SPACE on their own terms”, HAWKLORDS release their 12th consecutive album and 10th studio album comprising all brand new songs. From the bone-crushing opener, Gravity Well, with its Dante-esque ‘Fires of Hell’ lyrical commentary, to the pop-strut ear-worm mantra of Super Star Drive, the darkly explorative construct, Lost in Space, which is as much about loneliness as it is about the vastness of the Universe, to The Silence of Space, a dark poem about the fate of the galaxy set to an electro/industrial soundtrack reminiscent of any sci-fi classic movie, Gravity Zero and its super hook classic chorus, “Any life on Mars?” to You Will Be The Sun, a romantic ode to any form of love under the stars, this is an album for audiophiles of all kinds which takes the listener on a journey through the dark and the beautiful spaces of human existence. “Inner space, outer space, head space: Human Race” to quote Hawklords founder member, guitarist and songwriter, Jerry Richards. The S P A C E band line-up is: Mr Dibs (Bass, Vocals, Audio Generators), Dave Pearce (Drums) and Jerry Richards (Guitars, Bass, Vocals, SFX and Foley).

Hawklords release TIME, their 10th album in 10 years, on 6th August 2021. The band members are: Tom Ashurst, Dave Pearce, ‘Dead’ Fred Reeves and Jerry Richards, with a guest appearance on the song, “Take Off Your Mask” from long-time Hawklords stalwart and former Hawkwind bassist, Adrian Shaw, plus the astounding saxophone and transcendental flute of Chris ‘Beebe’ Aldridge (Rudimental and Ben E King) threaded throughout the album. Recorded under lockdown conditions between November 2020 and May 2021, the album is described by the band as, “Observations of life, seen through the prism of TIME.” Featuring killer songs such as “Speed of Sound” a tribute to the aeronauts of the halcyon days of the Supersonic Age of the late 1940s, to the ear-worm Pop of “Turn You On” and the bone-crushing power of the dystopian “To The New Age” a song that would sit well on any Stooges album, TIME is a sci-fi fantasy trip down a rabbit hole full of surprises and instant hook-lines. The package is completed with stunning artwork from the British graphic designer, Martin Cook.

Following the success of their critically acclaimed 2016 album Fusion, The Hawklords hit the road in 2017 with a new studio album, entitled SIX. Described by the band as A study in dystopia and the dark spaces of the mind, it features former key Hawkwind members Harvey Bainbridge and Jerry Richards, with Dave Pearce (from British psyche-rock band The Bevis Frond) alongside newest band member, Tom Ashurst. Jerry Richards (guitarist): This is an album about people and places. Some who find themselves in a world of pain and then sometimes in a world of beauty. This record is quite dark in places, yet it reaches for the light, elsewhere. Hawk fans will love it: a familiar sound exploring the uncharted territory of the mind. Mind-blowing? Maybe…

Recorded live at Kozfest 2022 where Hawklords headlined the closing night of this quintessentially British festival at Axminster Showground, Devon, in the UK. A sold-out crowd packed the Daevid Allen Kozmik Stage to thrill to a set that included the title track of the band’s 2012 recording debut, We Are One, and a heartfelt version of Ghost In My Machine from the 2017 SIX album, alongside Devil In Your Head from 2018’s Brave New World, plus a twisted performance of One Way Trip from 2019’s Heaven’s Gate, and a rocking version of fans’ favourite, SR-71, from the Fusion album of 2016. Also included in this set of blistering performances were three songs from 2021’s Time album: set opener, Speed of Sound; pop classic, Turn You On; and the dark-edged poem of the metaphysical, Obscura. And the set would not have been complete without a grinding rendition of Robert Calvert’s AI-inspired masterpiece, Robot, alongside Nik Turner’s space-rock classic Master of the Universe.
