Born in the U.S.A. was American rock musician Bruce Springsteen’s seventh studio album. It quickly became Springsteen’s biggest album and was the best selling album of 1985 in the United States. Born in the U.S.A. was extremely inspirational, the lyrics are viewed as a sign of hope for citizens working towards the American Dream.

The record produced seven top ten singles, including the title track, “Dancing in the Dark”, and “Cover Me”. Born in the U.S.A. hit number 1 in eleven countries and received numerous awards. The title track is self-described as one of his best songs. Reasonably regarded as the turning-point album in Bruce’s career.

Blood Brothers is a five-song EP by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, released in 1996. The EP was originally released along with a film, also titled Blood Brothers, which documented the 1995 temporary reuniting of Springsteen with the band to record extra tracks for his Greatest Hits release of that year.

Four of the five songs on the EP were written and recorded in 1995 during the band’s Greatest Hits sessions while “Murder Incorporated” was recorded live in February 1995. The 1995 sessions marked the first time since 1984 that Springsteen and the entire E Street Band recorded together. Part of the band had worked on Springsteen’s 1987 album, Tunnel of Love before Springsteen split from the E Street Band in 1989.

The title track was also released on the Greatest Hits album in an acoustic version. The studio version of “Murder Incorporated” can also be found on Greatest Hits along with the original version of “Secret Garden” minus strings. The live version of “Murder Incorporated” featured here is the same version used in the “Murder Incorporated” music video” “High Hopes” and “Without You” were featured on another single, which was rare and hard to find

“American Beauty” is a four-song EP by Bruce Springsteen that was released on limited edition (7,500 copies) 12-inch vinyl exclusively for Record Store Day on April 19, 2014. A digital download version was also released on April 22, 2014. The four songs that appeared on the EP are outtakes from Springsteen’s 2014 album “High Hopes”. Springsteen said of the four songs, “they’re just good music that didn’t get onto this record, and was sitting there. I thought it’s a nice time to support the record stores, which are dwindling and get some new music out at the same time”.

Bruce Springsteen released a live archival recording from 2008 documenting E Street Band co-founding keyboardist Danny Federici’s final appearance with the band. The show took place on March 20, 2008 at Conseco Field House in Indianapolis and is now available for purchase.

Deep into the Darkness Tour, the E Street Band took the stage at Cleveland’s Agora Theatre and Ballroom on August 9, 1978, where the entire show was simulcast on local station WMMS and many other stations around the country to an estimated audience of 3 million listeners. For years bootleg copies of the FM broadcast, in various degrees of quality, widely circulated among collectors and established The Agora ’78 as a legendary performance from Darkness-era Springsteen.

Not until now, however, has the pristine live stereo mix been heard. Seven 1/4 inch reels were unearthed in the Thrill Hill Archives and transferred via the Plangent Process, the same method used on the recent Album Collection Vol. 1 remastering project.

The entire show is now available in High Definition 24 bit / 192 kHz audio, as well as on a 3 CD set and MP3 and CD-Quality downloads.

As Fenway Park’s concert series gets into full swing, with five shows this week alone, it’s worth recalling who played the very first rock concert at Boston’s storied ballpark.

In September of 2003, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band christened Fenway’s status as a concert venue with a two-night stand, prompting then-Mayor Tom Menino to post signs around the park that read “Welcome to Boss-ton.”

The Boss returned for two more nights at Fenway in August of 2012 during his “Wrecking Ball” tour, and now the second of those two shows – from Aug. 15, 2012 – is seeing an official release on CD and download.

Long-revered by fans for its loose, celebratory vibe and eclectic setlist, from seldom-heard Springsteen outtakes like “Frankie” to a first-time-ever cover of Eddie Floyd’s “Knock on Wood” by request, it’s the latest in a monthly series of official live releases from Springsteen.
