On October 17, 2014, Billy Idol had released the studio album Kings & Queens of the Underground, which he had worked on together with Steve Stevens, and which told his story; at the same time, Idol also saw the album as a tribute to his companions from the wedding of punk. The tour for this album started on October 13, 2014 in Tempe and ended in July 2015.

Rebel Yell is the second studio album by Billy Idol and was released in 1983. It was much more successful than his previous debut album, peaking at #6 on the US Billboard 200 album chart, and had four successful singles on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts (“Rebel Yell”, “Eyes Without a Face”, “Flesh for Fantasy”, and “Catch My Fall”). The album would eventually achieve double Platinum status in the US with sales of over 2,000,000 albums.

Rebel Yell was produced by Keith Forsey, who had also produced Billy Idol, and featured songwriting by Billy Idol, Steve Stevens, and Forsey. A carefully-produced and constructed album, it is full of catchy hooks and synth-driven new wave pop.

1993 fifth studio album produced by Robin Hancock (Depeche Mode, Dr. Feelgood, Erasure, Seal). A cyberculture sci-fi concept album developed while Billy was recovering from a motorcycle accident. He became interested in the then emerging DIY technology of recording at home with computers. When originally released this was the first album to feature a floppy disc included as a special bonus. Though the critics were not kind to the album when first released, it remains an intriguing & vital chapter in Idols stellar career.

Although Generation X had been relatively unheralded second-generation punks in their native UK, the group’s frontman, the former William Broad, always clearly wanted more. For his solo debut, Billy Idol hired American metal guitarist Steve Stevens and streamlined his sound to something more in line with Def Leppard (soon to have their own US breakthrough) than the Sex Pistols. Billy Idol’s first single, ‘Hot in the City,’ was a radio-ready pop-rocker in the glossy, late-1970s FM style of Nick Gilder’s quite similar ‘Hot Child in the City.’ However, the second single, the tougher and creepier ‘White Wedding,’ was a massive MTV hit and made BILLY IDOL one of the top-selling albums of 1982 and ’83.
