UK pop sensation Anne-Marie will release “Unhealthy” at the end of July. Her third long player and the follow-up to the hit album “Therapy” released in 2021.
On her new album, Anne-Marie once again invites us into her life and offers insights into her perfectly imperfect world. In the new songs, Anne-Marie addresses past relationships that did not always end harmoniously. The tracks take us on a journey from brokenness to contentment. On “Unhealthy” we experience an artist who stands tall and learns to love this new version of herself: more combative, braver – and happier than ever before.
Sadness, anger, joy, rebellion and euphoria – her new album is partly a roller coaster of emotions for Anne-Marie. But the Essex singer embarks on this ride on her terms. So the album’s 13 tracks feature confident empowerment anthems like “Trainwreck” and “Grudge” as well as tender, vulnerable moments (“Kills Me To Love You,” “You & I”). Sometimes Anne-Marie expresses her fears to powerful guitars, as in “Haunt You”. Then again, she takes a trip into musical territory when she incorporates the melody of “I’d Do Anything” from “Oliver” in “Obsessed.”
This wealth of variety allows Anne-Marie to look back on seven Top 10 singles and two Top 3 albums in the UK. In Germany, the singer first conquered No. 1 in the singles charts in 2018 with the single “Friends,” together with Marshmello. With “Unhealthy”, further placements in the best lists are sure to follow.
