Alan Doyle – one of Canada’s most treasured musicians – has announced the release of a brand new EP, Rough Side Out.

The songwriter, producer, actor and author is a 12-time JUNO Award nominee for his solo material and work with his iconic band Great Big Sea. In 2018, he was awarded the Order of Canada for his contributions to the musical traditions of Newfoundland and for his commitment to numerous charitable initiatives.

Doyle recently teamed up with country star Dean Brody for a new single, “We Don’t Wanna Go Home”, the first song released from Doyle’s upcoming EP, Rough Side Out, due out February 14, 2020.

Alan Doyle, Canadian national treasure and unofficial ambassador of Newfoundland’s rich musical traditions, will release a new EP, Back to the Harbour – a collection of songs to celebrate his love of folk music – on May 21. The album was produced by Joel Plaskett at The New Scotland Yard in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Featured alongside Doyle on the album are Kendel Carson and Cory Tetford from his touring band, along with Plaskett himself.

Alan Doyle has shared details of a forthcoming live album culled from shows recorded over the past few years with his longtime tour support, the Beautiful Beautiful Band.

The sprawling 18-track release, Here, Tonight, arrives on March 11 through Warner, and comprises songs from his 2012 solo album Boy on Bridge, 2015’s So Let’s Go, 2017’s A Week at the Warehouse and 2020’s Rough Side Out EP, as well as hits from Great Big Sea, including “Ordinary Day” and “When I’m Up.”
