The brainchild of American actress, writer, and producer Issa Rae, Raedio acts as an “audio everywhere” collective — part artist, label, publisher, and community platform — that inked a deal with Atlantic Records in 2019, releasing the soundtrack to the 4-5 season of Insecure in 2020.
Created by Issa Rae — writer and star of The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl and Insecure — to create opportunities for like-minded musicians and creatives, Raedio’s aim was to connect the world of film, television, and advertising to promote up and coming independent artists. 2019 saw Rae’s company ink a deal with Atlantic Records to release the soundtrack to her hugely successful fourth season of Insecure. The soundtrack comprised a collection of new and established artists including Yung Baby Tate, Raphael Saadiq, and Ravyn Lenae. ~ Rich Wilson
Created by and starring Issa Rae, this comedy series looks at the friendship of two modern-day black women, as well as all of their uncomfortable experiences and racy tribulations. As they navigate the tricky professional and personal terrain of Los Angeles, best friends Issa (Rae) and Molly (Yvonne Orji) face the challenges of being black women who defy all stereotypes.
