Iker Piris
Born in Toulouse in 1979, he began playing the guitar himself at the age of fourteen. His first approach to the Blues was through a friend who showed him the basic tricks on the guitar, plus three albums he listened to:
Guitar Watsons “Witchcraft”, B. B. Kings “Live at the Regal” and Robert Crays “False accusation”. He’s been playing since then, on stage since 1997. In June 2009 he finished his studies at the Conservatory of music of the Basque Country, Musikene.
From that same year until 2018, he leads the project the Romanticos. The band released three albums:” My time “2012,” Do It yourself “2014,” Good vibrations ” 2017.
Today, his partners in crime are the French rhythmic section formed by Abdell B. Bop (Nico Duportal, Junior Watson, Lynwood Slim, Duke Robillard) on double bass, and Andy Martin (Chris
Ruest, Shawn Pittman) on drums, playing his new project: Iker Piris su dual Electras. They just recorded an album under the title of Electra ” which is composed entirely of original songs and has guests such as harmonicists Greg Izor, Nico Wayne Toussaint and Victor Puertas at the Piano.
