Pianistic discoveries: since the Pianist Florian Krumpöck also conducts, he has become even more aware of his responsibility for every single note. In contrast to the orchestral interplay, he has to take over the entire keyboard alone. This ended in a new version of the solo part for Dvorak’s early piano Concerto, op. 33 and a late, intense love for Chopin. Both combined open up new perspectives for the audience. Florian Krumpöck is a curious bridge builder who gets to the bottom of things with a certain composure. He has time for many things and yet never loses sight of the essentials. A few more notes for Dvorak here and a deliberately natural Rubato for Chopin there. In between there is also time and leisure for a charming exchange of ideas in the coffee house.

A definitely bohemian grandmother does not exist. Nevertheless, the love for Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony has been simmering in the heart of the musician for a long time. This in turn prompted him to completely rework the solo part of the piano concerto op. 33. After all, why should there suddenly be less Dvorak after the splendid orchestral introduction, especially when a conductor is sitting at the piano? Florian Krumpöck was primarily concerned with implementing Dvorak’s sound ideas, which can be clearly read between the lines, with pianistic means that were not yet available to the composer at that time. The late piano chamber music served him as a model. Krumpöck also quickly cast doubt on the virtuoso treatment of Vilém Kurz (1872-1945) for the clear, almost Beethoven-like approach of the original. In addition, there were notes that Dvořák knows little or nothing about, but rather “inflate”the piano part towards Rachmaninoff.
