The poems by Christina Rossetti (1830 – 1894), an English poet who is not yet well known in Germany, are the basis for the original idea of the new musical project by singer Eva Mayerhofer. The lyrical-sensual music of the composer and saxophonist Roger Hanschel forms the congenial counterpart for the setting. The compositions for voice, saxophone, string trio, double bass and percussion alternate between chamber music finesse and sophisticated, sophisticated grooves.

The three renowned, classically trained strings of the ensemble, Matthias Lingenfelder (Auryn Quartet), Ulrike Zavelberg (Rubin Quartet) and Martina Horejsi (Rubin Quartet / Gürzenich Orchestra) stand for the highest virtuosity and masterful interpretation. The extraordinary instruments of the Iranian percussionist Afra Mousavisade and the grounded sound of double bass player Dietmar Fuhr form the foundation of the musical architecture in whose sound structure the richness of color of Roger Hanschel’s saxophone playing can be optimally spread. Rossetti’s emotional texts are interpreted by Eva Mayerhofer in a soulful, unpretentious and passionate way.
