FLAC (tracks) 24 bit/192kHz | Time –  37:49 minutes | 0,97 GB | Genre: Jazz, Vocal
Official Digital Download – Source: HDTracks | ©  The Verve Music Group
Recorded: April 1, 1952 and the second on April 14, 1954.

Billie Holiday’s recordings for Commodore Records have been overshadowed to a large part by her Verve and Columbia offerings, but this collection recorded in 1944 deserves a place alongside her better known albums. Includes the first version of her first hit and signature song, the racially-charged Strange Fruit.

“… she achieved a perfect, lapidary balance, one that can still guide aspiring singers on how to interpret a song … these sessions provide us with Holiday’s last perky swing romps …”
