French-Armenian songwriter, arranger, and jazz musician André Manoukian releases his new tribute album Les pianos de Gainsbourg. The release comes at the 30th anniversary of the death of Serge Gainbourg, evoking the felted, elegant, and sensual atmosphere of a piano bar. Serge Gainsbourg’s father was a bar pianist, and Gainsbourg himself rubbed shoulders with this simultaneously exhilarating and ungrateful profession in his youth.

From this history, André Manoukian produces a fitting tribute, surrounding himself with female icons that Gainsbourg would certainly not have denied. Mélody Gardot, Isabelle Adjani, Camélia Jordana, Camille Lellouche, Elodie Frégé, and Rosemary Stanley (Moriarty) all appear to offer their voices to this stunning project!
